Irish rock band U2’s main vocalist Bono reminded Americans that Palestinians too have a dream during his “In the Name of Love” song tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. at President-Elect Barack Obama’s Sunday Inaugural Celebration concert at the Lincoln Memorial. “This is not just an American dream,” Bono said. "Also an Irish dream, a European dream, an African dream … an Israeli dream ... (delayed response) and also a Palestinian dream." (See minute 3:40) The crowd then cheered. The camera later then panned to President-Elect Obama who some on Twitter thought donned a not-so pleasant facial expression in response. But, that might seem farfetched since President-Elect Obama seemed to be listening to the song. Bono’s statement was seen by some as the only contentious-seeming statement during the star-studded celebration. Why though? What are your thoughts?

YOU MAKE MANY REFERENCES TO MARTIN LUTHER KING, BUT IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS IT IS A BIASED AND LIMITED VIEWPOINT .I WOULD KINDLY ASK YOU TO LOOK AT THIS INFORMATION ABOUT kING THAT I FEEL WOULD GIVE A MORE HONEST PICTURE OF THE MAN. THANK YOU http://christianparty.net/mlk.htm I would ask all others to look at this also. This site will give you links to others
Obamas defening silence about the slughter of Palestinian lives is a clear example of his allegance to AIPAC and the murderers in Israel. His cheif of staff Emmanuel and his campaign manager Axelrod is both Jewish and both hate Arabs so you can guess that Obama will just be another stupid American president that bows down to worship the Jews again.
I think some people are reading too much into a brief facial expression made by the president elect. Stop over-analyzing. I mean for all you know, the man had an itch on his nose that he didn't want to scratch in public. He's only human.
I guess it's only contentious if you contest that Palestinians are people.
I actually watched Obama's expression carefully--I don't know if he looked upset. It's that same thoughtful, serious look he usually has. I'd like to think he was contemplating the task ahead of him, particularly since his website asks people to vote on whether we should reevalute aid to Israel. But who knows--it's not like he's really uttered a word about Gaza...
